Carmelo Anthony to sign with Blazers

The Portland Trail blazers are now signing Carmelo Anthony and this is going to be a non guaranteed deal, as per reports from multiple outlets. Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN was the first to report about this deal.

This 35 years old forward, Carmelo Anthony has been searching for a team to play, ever since he was traded away from the Houston Rockets. He played ten games for them in the last season. Carmel Anthony is a ten times All Star, six time All NBA member and is former scoring champion with career average of 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

The star of Blazers, Damian Lillard was reportedly notified about this deal on Wednesday night. This was reported by Chris Hayenes of Yahoo Sports. Damian Lillard, who claims Carmelo Anthony to be a future Hall of Famer, is reportedly playing a supportive role in bringing in Carmelo Anthony, to help the Blazers. This club has struggled to start the season, with a record of 4-8.

It is reported by Wojnarowski, Carmelo Anthony will be joining the Blazers on their upcoming road trip. This road trip includes a stop in Houston for them, to face the Rockets on Monday. This non guaranteed deal is reportedly paying Carmelo Anthony $ 14,490 each day; he is going to be on the roaster of Blazers. This report also came from ESPN, by Bobby Marks. This unguaranteed deal will become fully guaranteed only on January 7th next year, if Carmelo Anthony still happens to be on the roaster of the Blazers.

Carmelo Anthony is expected to fill the void created in the front court because of Forward Zach Collins became down with injury.
